BECCA..STRAWBERRY SCRUB & TURMERIC MASK?!

I've recently tried out two things from the 'Becca Scrub' Brand, the limited edition turmeric face mask as well as the strawberry coffee scrub. Today I am going to share my thoughts/experience with you..

1. The CLAY MASK in TURMERIC

This mask is unlike any other I have come across, tried or seen out in the big wide world, Turmeric in a face mask  such an interesting concept, and I must admit I was a little nervous first putting it on my skin that I would turn yellow, because I've always seen mum use it in buttered chicken and it sometimes stains the tea-towels! ANYWAY moving on, so once I got over my nervousness I read the packaging carefully, it advised performing a patch test 24 hours before the application to the face, and if a positive reaction (something bad happens on the skin) then its not ideal to proceed! I was glad I have a negative reaction (nothing bad happened).

After my shower, and cleansing my face I applied the clay mask generously to my face using the brush provided. It was a little stiff to apply at first but once I dampened my face a little and the clay started to warm up it was a lot easier to apply. I then left the mask on for 15 minutes.. I could feel the mask setting on my skin which is always super satisfying (am I the only one who feels like this?)! After 15 minutes of scaring my brother and sisters with my bright yellow-orange appearance my face was fully set (couldn't really make any facial expressions). I removed it over the skin, which is what I would advise as it can get a little messy with clay! I used warm water and worked each area until all product was removed. I then pat-dried my face and applied my toner and all I can say is WOW!!! My skin felt like a babies bum, so soft and the redness from my breakouts was reduced instantly. It is recommend to use the mask 1-2 times per week, as you would any other scrub!

SO WHAT DOES IT DO?
Well the Becca website stated "The mask is specifically formulated to actively target cellulite, stretch marks, acne & eczema and other skin conditions with a smooth blend of organic turmeric powder, healing clay, gram flour, buttermilk powder and other essential vitamins.
Available in 150ml, each pack also contains four non alcoholic wipes and a mask brush.
It is made of all natural ingredients, which means no artificial preservatives. Our clay mask has a shelf life of 2 months but once open please use within 1 month. Be sure to keep the bag sealed in between uses and store it in a cool, dry place. If water gets inside the packet the shelf life may be reduced.
The essential vitamins remove dead skin cells, clear away dirt, grime and remove make-up. It can aid in shrinking wrinkles, preventing cellular ageing and gives fresh glowing skin. It also helps to treat acne, reduce redness and improve the skin's tone & texture."

2. COFFEE SCRUB IN STRAWBERRY
AGAIN I've yet to see a strawberry flavoured 'coffee scrub' in the scrub craze of late. Strawberry is my favourite flavour and probably scent too so I really enjoyed the smell of this scrub more than other scrubs I've tried in the past. The texture was what you would expect, grain like as its coffee BUT I find this works super well not just as a body scrub but also is idea for using as a face exfoliant (keeping away from eyes)! It really gets in to the skin and gets rid of that awful dry skin we all despise so much!

WHAT DOES IT ACTUALLY DO?
Again as the Becca website stated "This Strawberry-coffee scrub is specifically formulated to actively target cellulite, stretch marks, acne & eczema and other skin conditions with a smooth gourmet blend of Arabica and Robusta Beans, brown sugar, sea salt, extra virgin olive oil and other essential oils.
The essential oils remove dead skin cells, clear away dirt, grime and remove make-up. It can aid in shrinking wrinkles, preventing cellular ageing and protect against sun damage. It also helps to treat acne, reduce redness and improve the skin's tone & texture.
Available in 220g, it is made of all natural ingredients, which means no artificial preservatives. Our body scrub has a shelf life of 6 months. Be sure to keep the bag sealed in between uses and store it in a cool, dry place. If water gets inside the packet the shelf life may be reduced.

    How to Use:
  • Get naked and get in the shower. Turn the shower on and dampen your skin.
  • Rub enough scrub to cover your whole body
  • Use circular massage motions, concentrating on problem areas.
  • Leave scrub to dry for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse the scrub from your body. Repeat two to four times a week.
  • Oily/combination skin should use a light body wash to remove excess oil.
